Employee Safety and Health

The company places great importance on creating a safe and healthy working environment. Special attention is given to fostering a strong culture of safety and health in the workplace and increasing employees’ sense of responsibility. Preventive measures are a top priority. Employees performing hazardous tasks are required to complete specialized training, and their knowledge is periodically assessed. To ensure safe and efficient work, the company has developed job descriptions, as well as instructions covering occupational safety and health, fire safety, work technologies, equipment operation, and other necessary procedures. Employees are provided with personal protective equipment (PPE) free of charge to safeguard against workplace risk factors. Those using PPE receive additional instruction based on usage guidelines.

The company also emphasizes preventive healthcare by allocating funds for mandatory health check-ups. Employees are vaccinated against tick-borne encephalitis and influenza.

In 2019, the company insured all employees at its own expense with health and accident insurance.

Environmental Protection

Environmental protection is one of the priority areas of the Company’s corporate social responsibility activities. The Company continuously assesses the environmental impact of its operations, implements pollution prevention measures, complies with legal requirements applicable to its activities, and uses essential material resources efficiently. It also applies measures to reduce resource consumption, fosters employee competence and a responsible attitude toward work and environmental protection, and actively collaborates and exchanges information on environmental matters with business partners, government institutions, and other stakeholders — all with the aim of improving environmental conditions and quality of life.

GTC monitors the use of fuel, electricity, water, and paper, and ensures proper waste disposal. To optimize document management processes and reduce costs, the Company has implemented an electronic document management system, where all documents are managed and archived digitally.

During the reporting period, the Company did not receive any penalties or warnings related to violations of environmental laws or other relevant regulations.

Corruption and Bribery Prevention

The Company does not tolerate any form of corruption or its manifestations and is committed to open competition, ethical business practices, and ensuring transparency and public accountability in its operations.

The Company maintains political neutrality and does not provide financial support to political parties, groups, or politicians.

Internal control mechanisms have been implemented to identify, assess, and monitor potential corruption risk factors. The internal control system is regularly reviewed and improved.

Employees have the right and opportunity to report suspected acts or attempts of bribery and corruption anonymously, as well as violations of the Company’s internal procedures and Code of Conduct.

Reports of potential corruption or related concerns are encouraged via the Company’s confidential trust line at +370 650 39971, which is available to all employees.

Data Protection

Since the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect in 2018, the Company has implemented a series of planned legal, technical, and organizational measures to ensure compliance with data protection requirements:

  • · Review and adaptation of existing internal regulations, as well as the development of new documents related to personal data protection (e.g., Data Processing Rules, Privacy Policies, etc.)
  • · Ongoing prevention and control to ensure compliance with legal requirements for data processing, including mandatory documentation and alignment with applicable laws
  • · Identification of data subjects, recipients, processors, and joint controllers, with appropriate documentation signed (e.g., consent forms during recruitment)

Employee training and educational materials are provided to ensure proper data handling (e.g., a guide on personal data processing). There is no record of any personal data breaches or instances where data subjects have submitted complaints or requests regarding violations of their rights.

Human Rights Protection

The Company adheres to the principles of human rights protection in all its activities and ensures that no violations occur. It supports a fair and transparent remuneration policy, complies with laws regulating overtime and working hours, respects employees’ right to rest, and does not tolerate any form of harassment or violence. The Company stands firmly against all forms of discrimination and forced labor.

In 2019, no human rights violations or related complaints were recorded within the Company. We remain committed to upholding and strengthening human rights protection in all aspects of our operations.

Initiatives

GTC employees took part in the LG Summer Festival, held in honor of Railway Workers’ Professional Day, where the Employee of the Year and Team of the Year awards were presented.

To explore innovations and the latest technologies in the railway sector, GTC specialists attended the international railway industry exhibition Trako 2019, held in Gdańsk, Poland. Trako is the largest and most prestigious railway industry exhibition in the Republic of Poland, and one of the biggest events of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe. The exhibition showcased a wide range of products and services from local and international manufacturers, including: · Railway track construction and repair services; · Track maintenance rolling stock; · Locomotives and urban transport vehicles; · Metro and tram systems; · Train traffic management systems; · IT software and hardware solutions; · Cables and cable equipment; · Security systems designed for the railway industry.

Transparency

All individuals involved in the Company’s procurement processes — including those who may exert direct or indirect influence — have signed declarations of impartiality and confidentiality agreements.

The Company publicly discloses information about its performance results in accordance with the procedures established by law.

Cooperation with Educational Institutions

The Company cooperates with universities and colleges to provide students with opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge and gain practical skills. Internships are offered both to students participating in institutional training programs and to those seeking voluntary placements.

In 2018, cooperation agreements were signed with Kaunas University of Technology and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University. Representatives of higher education institutions and the Lietuvos Geležinkeliai Group of Companies formally confirmed their commitment to: · Jointly train specialists; · Improve academic programs; · Engage in the study process; · Host student internships; · Propose topics for research and final theses. Both parties agreed to prioritize scientific research, professional development, and information exchange on ongoing activities, advanced technologies, and technical solutions.

In March 2019, UAB Geležinkelio Tiesimo Centras, together with AB Lietuvos Geležinkeliai and UAB Vilniaus Lokomotyvų Remonto Depas, participated in VGTU Career Days 2019 — the largest networking fair for students, graduates, and companies in the Baltic States.

Educational Engagement

GTC welcomes educational visits free of charge, demonstrating goodwill and a commitment to learning. The Company’s specialists are skilled at presenting the organization and its operations in an engaging and modern way to both school pupils and university students. During the visit, participants have a unique opportunity to explore the base of specialized rolling stock and machinery used in railway infrastructure construction. Visitors also gain insight into the processes of railway infrastructure construction and maintenance.
